With nearly 100 years under its belt as a family-run company, Apollo Heating & Cooling knows a thing or two about surviving economic cycles.
In fact, for the last 21 years, the contracting company has made a profit every year as it serves the greater Cincinnati, Ohio, area.
“We have seen years where we have grown 37 percent and years that we have grown 5 percent,” explains Jamie Gerdsen, president and CEO. “We attribute our success in large part to focusing on the fundamental details of our business. We have remained consistent in our market message that has focused on what we wanted Apollo to be.”
It may seem like a simple equation, but Gerdsen and his team have found that combining a consistent message to the marketplace with a focus on delivering customers the experience they expect equals a contractor’s ability to remain a market leader.
He plans to reveal to Sales & Marketing Forum attendees the ways in which a company can obtain and maintain market relevance in their service area through execution.“I believe that I can help these folks achieve this by sharing with them my experience,” he says.
Gerdsen will also explore with forum participants the importance of working on the “why do we do it this way?” platform. He asserts that continually evaluating systems and processes is the key to finding out how to do business more efficiently while still delivering the performance viewed as the “model” in the marketplace.
Before taking the reins of the family business, Gerdsen was involved in an emerging start-up communications company, and since taking the reins he's made quite the splash in contracting and business in general. In 2009 he was named Ernst & Young Entrepreneur of the Year. Jamie's experience inside the industry, and out, add up to a valuable session of insider techniques for Forum participants.
